Nissan Pathfinder provides space with comfortable seats for seven people.

SITTING on the AMTEC Harare showroom floor branch, the bright red Pathfinder is ready to take on the road at a competitive price. With a rich heritage, the Nissan Pathfinder, was presented more than a quarter of a century ago and has raised the bar for the coming generations.

Known as the perfect vehicle for family adventures, each successive design of the Pathfinder remained faithful to that original premise as it evolved to meet the changing needs of its owners’. Now, with the presentation of the completely new 4th generation, not only does the Nissan Pathfinder provide space with comfortable seats for seven people, intuitive 4WD and 2668 kg (5000 pounds) of serial tow capacity, and also brings back the standards of the segment with an unprecedented level of style, comfort, lower fuel consumption and carefully considered technology.

The Nissan Pathfinder is available in two ranges, Base and SV, each range available with traction on all four wheels. It is equipped with Nissan’s legendary V6 VQ35 gasoline engine, together with New Generation X-TRONIC Continuous Variation Transmission (CVT) in both ranges.

With its new levels of refinement and technology, the new Nissan Pathfinder maintains the driving ability, both on and off road that is associated with the brand.

This vehicle has something for everyone, with a flexible innovative interior for every passenger, with seven seats for adults, Tri-zone air conditioning and a double panel panoramic roof in the SV range.

The serial elements we find in both ranges are cruise speed control, Tri-zone air conditioning, remote system to lock/unlock doors without the i-Key, roof rails, tinted windows in the second row, third row and rear, and automatic halogen lamps with manual levelling.

For flexibility in the options of passenger transport and availability of storage space, the second row of seats is foldable 60/40 and the third row 50/50. When both rows are folded in a flat surface, the Nissan Pathfinder provides an enormous cargo space of 2,259 litres. There are also ten cup-holders, six bottle holders, four 12 Volt electricity sockets, four shopping hooks, an illuminated luggage area and a storage compartment under the floor behind the third row seats that can be accessed while the 3rd row seats are available. The second row seats offer many functionalities and adjustments with inclination and sliding, offering additional leg space for the third row seat occupants, headrest adjustment and anchoring points to secure ISOFIX children’s seats. The third row seats also include inclination adjustment. The SV range has an extra 12 Bose speakers, a double panel panoramic roof with electric curtain and front fog lamps integrated in the bumper, among other things.

It is equipped with a V6 VQ35 gasoline engine, producing 190 kW of power and 325 Nm of torque. The engine is linked to new generation X-TRONIC CVT transmission. Both the Base and SV ranges have traction on all four wheels. The ALL MODE 4×4-i system, controlled by a rotating disc, can de changed between three modes. 2WD (steered driving for the front wheels for lower consumption), AUTO (the system monitors the four wheels to distribute the ideal quantity of torque between them) and LOCK (for irregular terrains, starting traction permanently with 50:50 torque transmission between the front and back wheels to speeds under 40 km/h). The suspension provides smooth and safe driving both on and off road. It includes front suspension with an independent shock-absorber and rear multi-link suspension.
