Jupiter Zim-bound?

Staff Reporter.

South African marketing giant, The Jupiter Drawing Room, is reliably said to be courting a partner in Zimbabwe, a move that could significantly transform the domestic advertising market.

Though details of the deal were still sketchy, investigations indicated that the South African company could be in talks with Jericho Advertising Agency.
Jericho's chief executive officer, Denford Magora, could neither confirm nor deny market speculation linking his company to talks with Jupiter, but indicated that the two-year old company had embarked on new aggressive marketing strategies that include intensifying the company's prominence in the highly competitive industry.
Once dominated by a handful of agencies, Zimbabwe's adverting and marketing sector has over the past few years seen a number of new entrants that are proving to be a real force to reckon with as they have managed to win big clients traditionally handled by the seasoned players.
With offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town, The Jupiter Drawing Room, which has received several awards, was voted joint Agency of the Decade in 2010 by leading business weekly FinWeek in its annual Tony Koenderman AdReview.
