CEMENT maker, Lafarge Cement Zimbabwe (Lafarge) plunged into the red after recording a $609 589 loss for the year to December 31, 2017 from a profit of $3,1 million in 2016, on the back of depressed sales.
The Lafarge Holcim unit’s chairman, Kumbirayi Katsande, said the firm had recorded an 18 percent reduction in cost of sales following normalisation of factory operations from an upgrade of its environmental control unit.
