Editor - Your story Civil servants pressure PM refers.
Civil servants are the country's backbone and as such deserve to be paid meaningful salaries to stamp out rampant corruption.
It is the employer, in this case the coalition government, which is pushing these loyal and faithful workers to a point of desperation leading them to endulge in corrupt practices to eke out a living.
It is shameful for the government to impoverish its own workers in a country which has abundant mineral reso-urces.
The coalition government should give civil servants better salaries for their excellent services and loyality.
These are the people the government can depend on.
Please do to others what you would want them to do unto you.

Yah, all well and good, but what about REDUCING the number of civil servants. Aren't there supposed to be thousands of ghost workers within the civil service? I believe that Zimbabwe has the biggest civil service in the world. Disgusting - what do we get for it?
