Fergie fumes at Gerrard

ALEX FERGUSON accused Steven Gerrard of "gifting" Chelsea victory at Anfield yesterday.
Kop skipper Gerrard set up Didier Drogba's opener with a terrible back pass - and now Chelsea are 1-14 ON to win the title on Sunday.

United boss Fergie, whose dream of overtaking bitter rivals Liverpool's 18 titles looks over, said: "I just saw it after the game. It was a great gift.

"There is nothing you can do about it. You just have to get on with it."

Drogba latched on to Gerrard's blunder to put Chelsea ahead after 33 minutes and Frank Lampard added a second in an easy 2-0 victory.

Drogba admitted: "Gerrard made a big mistake. I was lucky to be there and score.

"It was good because this goal gave us a lot of confidence to play well."

Now Fergie admits United are "clutching at straws" despite their 1-0 victory at Sunderland.

United must beat Stoke at Old Trafford and hope Chelsea fail to beat Wigan at Stamford Bridge.

Fergie said: "You never know what can happen. Football is a crazy game.

"Manchester City did us a great turn by beating Chelsea twice and Wigan are another neighbour, but listen, we know we are clutching at straws a little bit."

Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti said: "It was a key game in the fight for the title and we played very well - we deserved to win.

"There was a period in the first half that Liverpool played well but the second was much better.

"Defensively we did a fantastic job and had a lot of opportunities on the counter-attack after that.

"It is never easy to play here. They have very good players and there's always a fantastic atmosphere.

"It is the first time here for me and I will always have a good memory of it.

"The team's shown good mentality and a good physicality. Now we have to train well this week and wait."

Fergie added: "All we can do is win our game against Stoke.

"Obviously, I would not insult Wigan in any shape or form because they are a really good football team and they will have a go. But the important thing is for us to win our game and enjoy it." - The Sun

We have known Jose for a long time. He is a respected coach, but not when he faces a league competition against Barca, its just a toll order for him. I think he is now playing kunonyudza. Barca will surely embarra*s him. I think this is his toughest a*signment of his career.

I wish there would be a measure of decency (ubuntu/Unhu) in the way some of us use foul language in the public domain. Its really terrible to see this trend growing especially amongst the Zimbabweans. That is not what freedom of speech means.
A good way of deciding how to write is to immagine what your own child might say if they read what you wrote and knew you were the author.
Please fellow Zimbos, let us restrain ourselves and be the beacons of good manners that we have always been known to be.

batshele:

There is nothing wrong in addressing a Shona in Ndebele or a Ndebele in Shona because Shona and Ndebele are all dialects of one Bantu root language spoken by our fathers before they separated and adjusted to different habitats where they picked or dropped a syllable or so.
If you address me in Ndebele, I consider it a free Ndebele lesson and I would be grateful for that because I am paying my Ndebele neighbour to teach me SiNdebele.

We Zimbabweans are going too far. We are now commenting on isssues that don't concern us.There is this joke doing its rounds inthe UK that the Labour party is suppoerted by a section of the Zimbabwe community and were heard campaignisaying"Pamberi neLabour! Pasi nemaConservative!!" I think given the chance Zimbaweans would colonize the whole world. Can you imagine somebody saying something in Shona to Ferguson? No wonder why they will alwats address Ndebeles in Shona a*suming they should understand.

We can only do so much. Chelsea is good lets face it. Throughout the whole season they have not been getting gift-wrapped goals, if anything Drogba has scored some of the most fantastic goals ...wonderful a*sists who can begrudge them.

The season has 38 games and the game has over 90 minutes with each team having equal number of players. We can blame Steve for that goal, what of Lampard goal.Where was Liverpoolas a team in second half. They are non as the best team to come back in any game(they have done this with AC Millan and Man united).Chelski just were good.As for Fergie, you can't win them all.Try next
