Ncube, defectors clash

BULAWAYO — Welshman Ncube, leader of the Move-ment for Democratic Change (MDC), has raised the ire of legislators who defected from his party after accusing them of accepting bribes from Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s faction.
In an interview with a London-based radio station last week, Ncube alleged that the defectors were bribed by MDC-T officials, an allegation that has drawn angry responses from some of the deserters.
The MDC has since 2010 been hard-hit by defections.
The latest group to defect from the party include legislators, Nomalanga Khumalo (Mzingwane); Dalumuzi Khu-malo (Senator Umzingwani); Thandeko Zinti Mnkandla (Gwanda North); Maxwell Dube (Tsholotsho South) and Kembo Dube (Lupane).
“We know the non-governmental organisations which are being used; we know that councillors are being given bicycles, cell phones and allowances. We know because some of our Members of Parliament rejected those offers,” charged Ncube.
“We know the trips, foreign trips they were paid for. We know some of those who were expelled who were even taken to holidays with their wives in South Africa. So we know for a fact that there are all sorts of, what in normal society would be considered illegal inducements,” he added.
Ncube said the inducements were in contempt of the electoral process.
“It is not the nature of politics to go and recruit people out there. If your electoral strategy is simply that, you will spend five years enticing, bribing, paying and doing all sorts of unsavoury things to get support from other parties, it is first disrespectful, undemocratic and shows contempt for the democratic process.
“But to use whatever financial muscle you have, whatever inducements or enticements you have to literally bribe elected officials of other parties, it's not the behaviour that you expect of a political party, which is supposed to lead us in a different direction from the 30 years or so of ZANU-PF misrule,” he said.
But some of the named defectors who spoke to The Financial Gazette scoffed at the allegations.
Gwanda North MP, Zinti-Mnkandla laughed off the remarks.
“I can’t dignify such nuisance with a comment,” said Mnkandla.
Tsholotsho South MP, Maxwell Dube, said the allegations were untrue.
“There is nothing like that, Ncube is just peddling falsehoods”.
Expelled legislator for Bulilima East, Norman Mpofu, described Ncube as elitist.
He said: “Ncube runs the party like a personal shebeen. He doesn’t consult. He is someone who looks wonderful to work with from a distance, work with him and you will realise his true colours. His character doesn’t augur very well with the people, he is     elitist and too self-centred”. — Own Correspondent.

We can see drama with Mugabe refusing to leave his post because there are idiots in ZanuPF, Madhuku declaring himself life president of NCA and asking Mugabe to to go, Mahoso trying to foister zanupf propaganda from all directions, Ncube picking up fights with everyone except himself, making himself president, spokesman, publicity secretary and chairman of HIS party, we are in for intrigue. As for Chivaura, Ndave ha leave this sc*m alone, i was told he is an english lecturer but eish he speaks shonglish.

@ndabezitha- so much indeed.

Of course we all have to put some food on the table but sometimes we should have a bit of shame how we do this... The so called intellectual in Zimbabwe has prostituted his sould for the proverbial 30 pieces of silver. The landscape is littered with these guys devoid of any semblance or ounce of self respect..examples are:

Dr. Madhuku- when is this guy like his predecessor Thoko Masthe leave the chairmanship of a crucial body like the NCA You have single handedly messed up the constitution making body (Copac) standing outside, imagine the damage you would do to this inside.
Professor Johnathan Moyo- Where does this gentleman really stand?
Professor Mutambara- First you get accolades and accept them for vacating office and then in the dead of night you come back eish!
Professor Ncube-You should be able to read the political dynamics of the land why not move on to other areas of endeavor given your professed love for Zimbabwe?
Professor Dzinotyiwei- What really is going on in your political life as a Minister ?
Professor Nyat*anga- Why do you need to get your name soiled with all this nonsense at NSSA?
Professor Mahoso- Why do you have this ma*sisve contempt for your fellowmen?
Professor Mupepereki- Are you really serious?
Professor Chivaura- Do you drink? If yes, why not change the brew or stop outright?

yes ncube is elitist a trai that he carries with rwavhi mugabe. also, he does not have a vision explaining why he thinks that he can win the coming polls yet the writing on the wall baldly states otherwise. who in their full senses can then wait at the gig where the host has run out of booze, braai, salt and even braai stands and ice? it takes a lot of vision to see that one is in a sinking ship for which reason i salute the so-called defectors. those that remain with ncube are just like zanu legislators who do not see tha their party is going to be buried come next polls!!! dream on prof like your prfo counterparts arthru and jona!

What really amazes me is that some of these officials can not read the mood of the electorate. It is very easy to realise that you are swimming against the tide at any given time. Maybe these officials are to arogant or they just dont care. Elections have been held time and again and where its clear that a certain candidate has no chance-they blindly just carry on. So much for politics.
