THE Agriculture ministry has begun working on opening more land in Binga and the Zambezi Valley area to expand the country’s citrus production capacity. To achieve this, government has targeted at least 200 hectares per district as it aims to achieve 300 000 hectares of irrigable land. “At the moment, we are exploring all the agricultural land along the Zambezi River and Kariba Dam. We have identified Binga, which has a large hectarage of land where we can produce citrus and crops.
